The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Thompson with that takedown attempt.
Thompson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rush moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Thompson drives through and clinches with Rush against the cage.
Rush wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rush is looking to break free of the clinch but Thompson has double underhooks.
Thompson prevents Rush from breaking the clinch.
Rush could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Thompson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rush pinned against the cage. Rush gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Thompson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rush's waist but Rush gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thompson off to one side.

Thompson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rush knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thompson on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rush wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Thompson has him pressed against the cage.

Rush might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rush pushes Thompson off looking to stand but Thompson dives back in and keeps control.
Thompson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Rush!

You get the feeling that Rush really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Oh Rush is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
