Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Johannsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hansen comes to the cage accompanied by "Now You've Got Something to Die For" by Lamb of God. Andrew Hansen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Johannsen!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johannsen throws a left and a right that both miss

and Hansen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hansen passes into half guard.
Hansen content to control rather than advance.
Hansen lands strikes from half guard.

Hansen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Johannsen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hansen is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hansen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Johannsen looks a forlorn figure.

Hansen misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Johannsen misses with a lunging right hand

and Hansen counters with a single leg into guard. Johannsen didn't expect that.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Ryan Johannsen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Johannsen throws a head kick that half lands.
Johannsen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Johannsen throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hansen.
Johannsen throws a series of strikes that have Hansen backpedaling.
Johannsen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hansen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hansen scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Johannsen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ryan Johannsen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Hansen has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hansen looking to sit in guard and control but Johannsen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Johannsen tries to stand but Hansen is controlling from the bottom.
Hansen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Hansen counters with a right hand to the body.
Johannsen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hansen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Johannsen did well to prevent Hansen getting side control.
Hansen is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Hansen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Johannsen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Hansen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hansen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Still in half guard, Hansen seems content to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Andrew Hansen just wasn't active enough.
Hansen will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johannsen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Hansen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Johannsen quickly recovers to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Andrew Hansen showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hansen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
