The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poopi blocks a head kick by Russo.
Poopi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Russo creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Poopi's defenses.
Russo lands an elbow inside that Poopi shrugs off.
Russo gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Poopi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Russo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Poopi shoots in for a takedown but Russo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Poopi has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Russo rushes Poopi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Russo jerks Poopi's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Poopi drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Russo goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Russo because Poopi was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
