Emelianenko has chosen The wanted glad you came xx as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Aleksander Emelianenko was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Emelianenko tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Williams lands a slapping body shot.
Emelianenko takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Williams digs a good hook to Emelianenko's body.
Williams connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Emelianenko lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Emelianenko.


It looks like Josh Williams has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Williams moves out of range as Emelianenko strikes.
Emelianenko misses with a few strikes there.
Emelianenko misses with a wild combination.
Emelianenko looks to land a left hand but Williams moved out of range nicely.
Williams lands a jab to the nose.
Emelianenko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Williams.
Williams lands a head kick!
Williams fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Emelianenko on the side of the head.
Emelianenko shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Williams eats them both and turns towards Emelianenko to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Williams lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Josh Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams connects with an inside leg kick.
Emelianenko looks gassed!

Williams buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Williams cracks the inside of Emelianenko's front leg.
Emelianenko misses with an uppercut.
Williams throws a quick inside leg kick.
Williams scores with a sloppy right hand. Emelianenko should have avoided that one.
Emelianenko walks into a straight right hand from Williams.
Emelianenko steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Williams. That one must have hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Williams lands with a kick to the ribs.
Williams throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Emelianenko has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Williams fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Emelianenko has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Williams dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Emelianenko. That did some damage!
Williams lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Emelianenko on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Williams fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Emelianenko has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Both fighters circling a little - Williams finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Emelianenko takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Williams works over Emelianenko's head and body with a nice combination.

A solid leg kick lands there for Williams.
Williams lands a nice shot to the body.
Williams lands with a slapping head kick.
Emelianenko's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Williams connects with a solid leg kick.
Williams lands a lovely overhand right.
Williams scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Emelianenko has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Williams.
Williams chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Emelianenko's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Williams connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Emelianenko scrambles back to his feet.

Williams lands with a straight right. Emelianenko didn't see that one coming.
Emelianenko on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Williams. Williams obviously looking to wear him down.
Williams changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Williams throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Williams fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Emelianenko looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Williams chopping away at his opponent's legs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Emelianenko's head.


Emelianenko is rocked!
Williams closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Emelianenko! Williams dives in looking to finish! Emelianenko is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josh Williams!
Josh Williams retains his heavyweight title!
