Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan McPhee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McPhee comes to the cage accompanied by Loose yourself. Ryan McPhee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan McPhee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McPhee just misses with a punch to the body.
Wilson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McPhee throws out the jab.
Wilson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wilson has his takedown stuffed
and McPhee counters with a good low kick that Wilson was not able to check.
Wilson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and McPhee counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wilson won't be happy with that.

Wilson tries to bench press McPhee off him but McPhee keeps the position.

Wilson is letting McPhee control him for a moment.
You can see the frustration on Wilson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

McPhee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wilson for as long as he can get away with.

McPhee takes a little break here. Wilson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Ryan McPhee has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Wilson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wilson just misses with a punch to the body.

Wilson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McPhee lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Wilson.

McPhee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wilson misses with a takedown
and McPhee counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Wilson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but McPhee is out of range.

McPhee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wilson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McPhee is in Wilson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McPhee tries to free his leg and advance position but Wilson is retaining full guard.
McPhee is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Wilson looking to hit a scissor sweep but McPhee is one step ahead there.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryan McPhee.

McPhee has Wilson pushed against the cage.

McPhee digs a right hand into Wilson's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Wilson's gas tank.

McPhee's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Wilson tries to reverse the position but McPhee maintains control.

McPhee takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wilson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Wilson is pushing down on McPhee's leg trying to pass to half guard. McPhee is fighting to maintain full guard but Wilson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Wilson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McPhee swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McPhee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wilson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wilson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
McPhee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wilson wants to control from the top but McPhee keeps moving.

Ryan McPhee showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for McPhee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
