Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dai Vernon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wing Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vernon comes to the cage accompanied by Ari Gold - Let's Hug It Out, BITCH. Wing Zero told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dai Vernon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wing Zero! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zero swings and misses with a shot to the body and Vernon counters with a good low kick that Zero was not able to check. Wing Zero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Zero fails with the takedown and Vernon counters with a nice low kick that buckles Zero's knee momentarily. Vernon jabs Zero to the body, keeping him at a distance. Zero chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Vernon can pounce on him.
Vernon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zero sprawls well. Zero wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vernon gets slowly back to his feet. Vernon scores with a push kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vernon lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Wing Zero has been cut. Good exchange - Vernon coming out on top. Vernon lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Vernon. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Zero swings away with a body shot that misses
letting Vernon counter with a right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zero stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Vernon. Vernon works over Zero's head and body with a nice combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Zero moves to clinch but Vernon breaks away and Vernon counters with a nice uppercut. Zero throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Vernon makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Zero really felt that one!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jab, jab by Vernon - just one landing. Zero throws a sloppy body shot
and Vernon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vernon. Vernon scores with a hook to the body. Vernon is leaning against Zero and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Vernon lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. A body shot lands from Vernon.
Vernon presses Zero against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Zero looks gassed! Zero tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Zero wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Vernon lands with a short head shot on the inside. A short body shot lands from Vernon as the two fighters clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Vernon. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dai Vernon dominated that round. The cut man is working on Wing Zero's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Vernon looks to land a combination. Zero sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Zero has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Vernon. Vernon looks for a takedown but Zero sprawls well. Zero shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Vernon counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Zero with a lazy takedown attempt and Vernon makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Zero really felt that one! Zero is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zero misses with a hook to the body
and Vernon counters with a straight right hand. Vernon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Zero, pushing him back against the cage. Vernon pushes Zero back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Vernon gets through Zero's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Vernon digs a right hand underneath Zero's ribcage. Zero let out a lung full of air as it connected. A shot in the inside from Vernon. Zero is trying to force a seperation but Vernon has the dominant position. Zero tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Vernon smiles and moves away.
Dai Vernon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wing Zero. Vernon lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zero shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Vernon counters with a nice body shot. Vernon connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Vernon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Zero to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vernon has his feet on Zero's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Vernon clinches up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Vernon pushes Zero back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Vernon stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. A left hand lands to the body for Vernon.

Vernon lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Zero backwards. Vernon is working Zero over against the cage. Nice body punch from Vernon - that landed with a thud.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Zero wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Vernon scores with a hook to the body. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Vernon. Vernon presses Zero against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dai Vernon dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Wing Zero's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Vernon makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Zero is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Vernon rather than just go for the knockout. Vernon chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Vernon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Zero tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vernon is in Zero's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vernon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Vernon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Zero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zero preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Vernon trying to control but Zero is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Dai Vernon wasn't doing enough on the ground. Zero misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Vernon counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Vernon with a lazy takedown attempt and Zero counters with a takedown into side control. Vernon is looking to reverse the position. Vernon manages to get back to half guard. Zero is looking to advance position but Vernon won't allow it. Vernon looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Vernon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Zero's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Zero's back! Wing Zero has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dai Vernon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Vernon is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Vernon thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Zero takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Zero covering up well and avoiding damage. Can Zero hold on?! Vernon is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
And that's the end of the fight! Dai Vernon showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vernon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
