Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Barreda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jesus Barreda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesus Barreda!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Page fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Page changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barreda tries to avoid it but Page manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barreda to the ground. Barreda escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Page shoots in looking for a takedown. Barreda tries to sprawl out of it but Page keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Barreda manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Page. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barreda thuds a left hand into Page's body.
Barreda stuns Page with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Page fails to land the takedown.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Barreda throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Page's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Barreda dives in looking to finish as Page flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Barreda's strikes! Barreda is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Page's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Page was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
