Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Enzo Inoue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Nakumura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryu Nakumura has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Enzo Inoue! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Nakumura! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakumura tries to clinch up and Inoue counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Nakumura thuds his shin into the meat of Inoue's side. Nakumura tries to clinch up. Nakumura tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Inoue counters with a single leg into guard. Nakumura didn't expect that. Nakumura utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Inoue thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Inoue wants to control from the top but Nakumura keeps moving. Inoue has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Inoue wants to pass the guard but Nakumura is keeping the position. Inoue wanted to stand there but Nakumura had control of the position. Inoue trying to control the position from guard on top but Nakumura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Nakumura is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We're going to have a standup here because Enzo Inoue wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Nakumura tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Inoue paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nakumura is looking to clinch but Inoue is avoiding it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nakumura lands a high kick!
Nakumura tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Inoue manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Inoue shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nakumura as he jumps to the side. Nakumura wants to clinch and Inoue connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Ryu Nakumura has been cut. Inoue avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Inoue misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nakumura lands a nice leg kick that just misses Inoue's sensitive parts. Nakumura tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Inoue circles away from the clinch attempt.
A chopping leg kick lands by Nakumura. Inoue is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakumura fails with an attempt to clinch.

Ryu Nakumura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nakumura tries to clinch but Inoue is having none of it. Nakumura cracks Inoue with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Inoue tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nakumura swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Enzo Inoue. That's going to take a lot out of him. Inoue keeps the fight on the outside. Nakumura tries to close the distance and clinch but Inoue swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakumura wants to clinch and Inoue counters with a lovely straight right hand! Nakumura tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Inoue swats away the attempt to clinch by Nakumura. Nakumura is looking to clinch but Inoue is avoiding it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nakumura doesn't manage to clinch there - Inoue circles away.
Nakumura moves to clinch but Inoue breaks away and Inoue counters with a nice uppercut. Nakumura is looking to take this fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Enzo Inoue will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Ryu Nakumura's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Nakumura tries to clinch but Inoue moves away and Inoue counters with a shoot takedown. Nakumura fights it but they end up in guard. Nakumura keeping moving, preventing Inoue from controlling successfully. Inoue slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Inoue tries for a kimura but Nakumura is defending well. Inoue wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nakumura keeps working. You can see the frustration on Nakumura's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Inoue throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Inoue tries for a kimura but Nakumura is defending well. Nakumura is looking to reverse the position. Nakumura struggling a bit here. Inoue wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nakumura keeps working. Inoue throws an elbow but Nakumura slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Inoue tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Inoue working the ground and pound but Nakumura is defending the strikes. Nakumura defending against the ground and pound. Nakumura is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Nakumura parries the strikes from Inoue easily there. Inoue is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Nakumura to escape.
Nakumura is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ground and pound from Inoue seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Inoue misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Nakumura is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Inoue asserts his dominance and retains side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nakumura can do anything to dispel that myth. Inoue creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nakumura sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Nakumura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Inoue. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nakumura sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Inoue is looking to take a break and control but Nakumura is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nakumura is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Nakumura wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Inoue has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Inoue misses with a head shot. Inoue lands a heavy elbow. Inoue landing strikes from the mount and Nakumura is in trouble! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Inoue thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Nakumura tries to bench press Inoue off him but Inoue keeps the position. Nakumura is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Nakumura is looking to reverse the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakumura is not content to let Inoue control the position. Inoue advances to full mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Inoue is in the full mount, landing strikes. Enzo Inoue overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Inoue looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Inoue looking for a guillotine from mount but Nakumura is having none of it. Inoue is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nakumura has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nakumura!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nakumura looking to pass the guard. Nakumura wants to stand but Inoue has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Inoue looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nakumura is one step ahead there.

Enzo Inoue is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Nakumura is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Nakumura's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nakumura tries to clinch up letting Inoue counter with a right hand. Nakumura closes the distance looking to clinch enabling Inoue to counter with a crisp jab. Ryu Nakumura has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nakumura tries to clinch there but Inoue circles away.
Nakumura tries to close the distance and clinch up but Inoue swats him away and circles back towards the center. Inoue keeps the fight on the outside.
And that's the end of the fight! Enzo Inoue showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Inoue, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
