Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rich Granderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rey Griffin! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Granderson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Griffin! Granderson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. A nice elbow there by Granderson. Granderson raining down shots from the mount! Granderson looking to control but Griffin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Griffin flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Griffin wants to try and get back to his feet. Granderson controlling the position easily from mount. Granderson lands a nice shot to the head. Griffin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Granderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Granderson controlling from the full mount. You get the feeling that Griffin really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Granderson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Griffin manages to avoid the submission attempt. Granderson lands an elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Granderson advances nicely into full mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Granderson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Griffin throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Griffin's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Granderson landing strikes from the mount and Griffin is in trouble! Granderson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Griffin is surviving well by controlling Granderson's body position as best he can. Griffin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Granderson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Griffin?
Granderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Griffin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Granderson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Griffin is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Granderson locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Griffin is forced to tap!
