Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rome Terrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Pogi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rome Terrell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Pogi! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A chopping leg kick lands by Pogi. Pogi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Pogi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Terrell wants to get back to full guard. Terrell is refusing to be controlled, as Pogi sits in half guard. Pogi controlling the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pogi wants to control but Terrell is keeping him busy. Pogi is working for a submission of some sort.
Terrell is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pogi scores with a couple of nice shots.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Terrell misses with a takedown attempt and Pogi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Pogi pressing his opponent against the cage. Pogi jumps into guard, dragging Terrell to the mat.
Terrell wants to control from the top but Pogi keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Terrell preventing the sweep. Pogi throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Pogi controlling the position. Terrell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Terrell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Terrell is breathing heavily. Pogi keeping moving, preventing Terrell from controlling successfully. Pogi has Terrell pulled in close to control his posture.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Terrell gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Pogi preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terrell not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pogi's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Pogi gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Pogi instigates a clinch. Terrell jumps guard but Pogi stands there with Terrell around his waist. Terrell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rome Terrell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Terrell tries to pull guard but Pogi won't allow it.
Pogi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Pogi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Terrell throws a head kick that misses and Pogi counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Pogi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Terrell avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Terrell tries to break the clinch but Pogi is controlling the position. Terrell tries for a takedown but Pogi manages to get underhooks.

Terrell throws the kick towards the body but Pogi avoids it. Terrell with a poor takedown and Pogi counters with a takedown into side control. Terrell tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Pogi working for a guillotine from mount but Terrell is in no mood to give up. Terrell manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Terrell, under a barage of strikes from Pogi.

Joe Pogi dominated that round. That's time! Terrell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Pogi throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Pogi instigates a clinch. Pogi ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pogi no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Pogi is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Pogi working a defensive guard here.

Pogi looking for submissions from an awkward position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pogi is trying to stand.
Pogi wants to get back to full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pogi is positioning himself well to prevent Terrell advancing to mount. Terrell trying to control the action but Pogi is working from the bottom. Pogi wants to get back to full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pogi clinches. Pogi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Terrell misses with a hook. Pogi ducked under it nicely. Terrell shoots and misses and Pogi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Pogi looking to pass the guard. Pogi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Pogi postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pogi wants to pass the guard but Terrell is keeping the position. Terrell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pogi passes Terrell's left leg - he's now in half guard. Terrell makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Terrell. Terrell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pogi is controlling him. Terrell throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Terrell holds on and takes a little breather.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terrell lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Pogi tries to stand but Terrell is controlling from the bottom. Terrell working for a triangle but Pogi defends it easily.
Terrell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pogi controls the pace. Pogi advances to half guard. Pogi is stalling here. Terrell is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Pogi seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Terrell has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pogi is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Terrell is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Terrell looking for a guillotine from mount but Pogi is having none of it. Terrell prevents Pogi from getting the reversal. Joe Pogi has got the better of the ground game so far. Terrell goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Pogi turns into him and now he's in Terrell's guard.

Joe Pogi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Terrell is trying to break the clinch but Pogi has him pressed against the cage. Pogi manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Terrell tries to stand but Pogi is controlling from the bottom. Pogi looking for a sweep. Not yet Pogi, not yet. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pogi is on top in guard.

Pogi lands with a nice combination. Terrell backs away looking to recover. Pogi forces Terrell back against the cage and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terrell wants to get back to striking at distance but Pogi won't allow it.

Terrell landing strikes. Terrell scoring with punches from side control. Pogi is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pogi controlling the position well. Terrell prevents Pogi from improving his position. Terrell content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Pogi tries to roll over but Terrell keeps him under control. Pogi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Terrell scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terrell with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Pogi is staying active underneath Terrell, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Terrell thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pogi's head.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pogi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Terrell! Pogi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Terrell wants to control but Pogi is having none of it. Pogi looking to control but Terrell is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Pogi lands with some strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pogi lands a nice shot to the head. Pogi working away from the top, dropping strikes. Pogi goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Terrell turns into him and now he's in Pogi's guard.
Terrell preventing the sweep. Pogi will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pogi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Terrell is one step ahead there. Terrell is looking to stand up but Pogi won't let him. Rome Terrell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pogi has his foot on Terrell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Terrell works his way back into a safe position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Pogi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pogi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
