Valeriy Kozlaev could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Howland Reed's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kozlaev closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Reed swings wildly with an uppercut but Kozlaev uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kozlaev has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Reed clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Kozlaev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kozlaev wants to take a breather but Reed is having none of it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kozlaev has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Reed is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kozlaev is aware though and is defending well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kozlaev dives in and grabs Reed's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reed pushes down on Kozlaev's head and hops out.
Good leg kick by Reed there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Nice takedown defense from Reed. No joy for Kozlaev on that attempt.
