The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mansurov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gomi can do anything to dispel that myth.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Takanori Gomi hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gomi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mansurov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Gomi lands with a nice body punch.

Mansurov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Gomi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Mansurov tries to move into range but Gomi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Gomi connects with a crisp jab.
Mansurov has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Mansurov fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mansurov moves forwards but Gomi connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gomi uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mansurov has time to react.
Gomi lunges at Mansurov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mansurov's hand.

Takanori Gomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomi scores with a sloppy right hand. Mansurov should have avoided that one.
Gomi throws an overhand right that lands on Mansurov's shoulder, as Mansurov tries to avoid the shot.

Gomi lands the left hand.
Horrible takedown by Mansurov or perhaps it was just good defense by Gomi which made him look bad.

Takanori Gomi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gomi uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mansurov has time to react.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gomi, as that shot connected.
Mansurov misses with a takedown attempt - Gomi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mihail Mansurov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gomi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mansurov doesn't seem bothered though.

Mansurov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mansurov drops his hands momentarily and Gomi takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Mansurov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gomi tries to avoid it but Mansurov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gomi to the ground. Gomi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gomi lands a nice looking body shot.
Gomi throws a one two combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gomi ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Gomi punishes Mansurov's body with a nice straight punch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mansurov gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Mansurov moves forwards but Gomi connects with a nice, crisp jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Takanori Gomi dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Gomi lands with a cross.
Mansurov is rocked!

Gomi darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Gomi scores with a hook to the body. Mansurov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Gomi scores with a one two! Mansurov had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Oh Mansurov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
OH! Mansurov has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Gomi smells blood and charges in for the finish! Gomi unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Mansurov sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Takanori Gomi!
