Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edgar Allan Poe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Fenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Poe comes to the cage accompanied by Heartbeats. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edgar Allan Poe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Fenix! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poe walks into a jab. Poe throws a low kick but Fenix moves out of range easily. Poe scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Fenix throws a leg kick that is checked and Poe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Fenix moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Fenix misses with a body kick. Fenix throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fenix thows a leg kick but Poe checks it and Poe holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Fenix throws a knee to the head but misses.
Poe throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Fenix blocks it with crossed arms. A shot in the inside from Fenix. Poe tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Poe content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Poe misses with a body punch.
Poe stalling against the cage.
Poe looking to stall.
Fenix misses with an elbow strike.
Fenix manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Fenix lands an elbow inside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Poe is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Fenix is defending well for now. Poe taking a breather. Poe lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A right hand to the body from Fenix.
Fenix letting Poe take a breather here. Fenix goes for a takedown attempt but Poe pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Fenix stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poe takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Fenix connects with a body shot that sends Poe's belly button to the back. Fenix throws a lazy uppercut
and Poe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Edgar Allan Poe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Poe stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Fenix. Fenix keeps the fight on the outside. Poe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fenix falls off balance throwing a combination
and Poe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Fenix just misses with a punch to the body.
Poe misses with a double jab.
Fenix throws a left and a right that both miss
and Poe counters with a lovely shot to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Fenix dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Poe counters with a nice body shot. Fenix misses with a double jab
and Poe counters with a nice leg kick. Poe has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Marcus Fenix is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fenix looks to land a right hand but Poe moved out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fenix throws a lazy head kick and Poe counters with a good low kick that Fenix was not able to check. Marcus Fenix seems to be getting the better of the standup. Fenix throws a leg kick and Poe counters with an outside leg kick.
Fenix on the wrong end of a nice hook. Poe misses with a left hand and Fenix makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Poe throws a lazy body kick and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poe misses with a kick to the body.
Fenix avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Poe looks for the body kick but Fenix saw that one coming. Some wild striking there from Fenix.
Poe tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fenix on the wrong end of a nice jab. Fenix wants to slow Poe down by chopping away at his legs. Fenix keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Poe takes a body punch but keeps moving. Marcus Fenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fenix swings widly with a right hand
and Poe counters with an inside leg kick. Fenix throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Poe makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Poe lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Poe is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Poe throws a lazy head kick and Poe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fenix throws the kick towards the body but Poe avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Marcus Fenix will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Fenix throws a solid leg kick but Poe takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Fenix. Fenix misses with a wild body shot. Poe throws a jab when Fenix was well out of range. Poe looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fenix takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fenix throws a body kick, spinning off balance enabling Poe to counter with a crisp jab. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Fenix checks a leg kick. Fenix throws a left and a right that both miss
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Fenix misses with a left hand and Poe counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Fenix misses with a kick to the body and Poe counters with a thumping low kick. Marcus Fenix is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fenix throws a sloppy body shot
and Poe counters with an inside leg kick. Fenix misses with a combination
and Poe counters with a lovely straight right hand! Edgar Allan Poe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Poe moves in looking to clinch but Fenix pushes him off. Fenix keeps Poe at a distance using the push kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fenix throws a leg kick and Poe counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Poe moves out of range of the strikes. Fenix misses with a wild combination.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Fenix checks a leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sloppy strikes from Fenix. Those never looked like landing. Fenix shoots in for a double leg but Poe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A shot to the body from Fenix misses and Poe counters with a lovely straight right hand! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fenix fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Poe is out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! Edgar Allan Poe showed his dominance in that final round. I think Fenix has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
