PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Draven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gil Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernandez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Requiem for a Dream by Lux Aeterna. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Draven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gil Hernandez!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hernandez forces Draven back against the cage and clinches.
Draven lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Draven lands a damaging elbow.
Draven working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Draven lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Draven.
Draven softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Hernandez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hernandez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hernandez wants to get back to his feet but Draven is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hernandez wants to sweep but no luck.
Hernandez has a closed guard, preventing Draven from standing up.
Draven is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hernandez controls Draven momentarily but Draven frees himself.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Draven stands and steps away. Hernandez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hernandez chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Draven can pounce on him.
Draven sizes up Hernandez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Draven feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hernandez sprawling to the canvas! Hernandez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Draven finish him?!

Hernandez is rocked!
Hernandez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Draven counters with a huge right that knocks Hernandez out cold! Draven is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
