Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Richards! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Raul Pendragon! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richards displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pendragon throws out the jab. Pendragon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Richards gets the takedown into side control. Pendragon wants to control but Richards postures up. Richards tries to advance to mount but can't. Richards wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pendragon, who protects the arm well. Richards is looking to take a break and control but Pendragon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pendragon gets back to half guard. Pendragon won't allow Richards to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pendragon looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Richards blocks a jab. Richards tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pendragon swivels and escapes. Pendragon looks to land a left hand but Richards moved out of range nicely. Pendragon throws a series of punches but Richards moves out of range. Richards misses with a takedown attempt - Pendragon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pendragon tries to clinch up but Richards circles away and keeps his distance. Pendragon swings for the body but Richards moves out of range.
Richards avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Richards shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Richards was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Pendragon tries to hold on but Richards pushes him away. Richards looking to ground and pound but Pendragon is blocking nicely. Pendragon keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Richards wants to control the pace but Pendragon is squirming around nicely. Richards manages to capitalize on a mistake by Pendragon to take his back! So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Richards wants to control but Pendragon is keeping busy. Richards is breathing heavily. Pendragon trying to control but not successfully. Pendragon manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Pendragon. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Pendragon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Richards.
Richards shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Pendragon misses with the combination.
Pendragon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Richards sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Pendragon thows a left - swing and a miss! Richards keeps the fight on the outside. Richards fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Richards fails to land the takedown. Pendragon throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Richards stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Pendragon clinches but Richards breaks the clinch and Richards counters with a single leg into guard. Pendragon didn't expect that. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pendragon has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Richards off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Pendragon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Richards closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Raul Pendragon will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Richards stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pendragon swivels though and keeps the full guard. Richards trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Richards with a flurry of punches that miss. Richards wants to pass the guard but Pendragon is keeping the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pendragon wants to stand but Richards is controlling the position. Richards advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Pendragon explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Pendragon throws a hook but Richards blocks it. The fighters circling - Pendragon throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nice takedown defense from Pendragon. No joy for Richards on that attempt. and Richards counters with a shoot takedown. Pendragon fights it but they end up in guard. Scott Richards overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Richards throwing strikes but missing. Richards trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Richards wants to control from the top but Pendragon keeps moving. Richards has gone for a leg lock! Pendragon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Richards's guard. Pendragon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Richards counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pendragon! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Richards fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Pendragon is squirming around, avoiding Richards's attempts to control the action. Richards thowing shots but they're missing. Pendragon has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Oh Richards is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Richards shoots in and drives through. Pendragon sprawls well. Richards looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pendragon is fending him off so far but Richards persists. Nope, Pendragon circles away and we're back to standing. Richards slips a straight right by Pendragon. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pendragon misses with a hook. Richards ducked under it nicely. Pendragon misses with a looping left. Pendragon drives through and clinches with Richards against the cage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Scott Richards will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
