Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kiwi Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry De Paula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Henry De Paula enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kiwi Bird! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henry De Paula! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bird misses with a hook
and De Paula makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Bird could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. De Paula feints and as Bird raises his hands in defense, De Paula changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Bird wants to get back to his feet but De Paula passes into half guard.
De Paula content to control rather than advance. De Paula gets to his feet - back to striking we go! De Paula looking to score a takedown here. Bird is defending well but De Paula drives through and ends up in Bird's guard. De Paula controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bird might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Paula is pushing down on Bird's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bird is fighting to maintain full guard but De Paula has managed to sneak the leg through. Bird taking some punishment here, with De Paula in his half guard. Bird knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for De Paula on the ground. De Paula decides to stand up. Bird is breathing heavily. Bird tries to sprawl but De Paula drives through with a takedown into half guard. De Paula prevents Bird from standing back up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with De Paula in particular looking to stall.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Henry De Paula hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. De Paula tests Bird's chin there with a solid looking shot. De Paula lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! De Paula shoots in and gets a takedown into Bird's guard. De Paula slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that De Paula has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Bird is working an open guard so De Paula takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. De Paula wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. De Paula moves into the clinch successfully.

De Paula has Bird pulled in close to control his posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. De Paula bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bird's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. De Paula passes Bird's left leg - he's now in half guard. De Paula escapes and gets back to his feet. De Paula bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. De Paula controlling the position from side mount. De Paula scoring with punches and elbows. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. De Paula controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Henry De Paula dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
De Paula scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. De Paula content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. De Paula working the ground and pound from side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. De Paula controlling the position from side mount. De Paula cracks Bird with an elbow. That is naaassty.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Paula decides to take the fight back to the feet. Bird takes a body punch but keeps moving. De Paula has been the more effective fighter overall so far. De Paula bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. De Paula advances nicely into full mount. De Paula is standing up, even though he is in mount. De Paula decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Paula maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Bird could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but De Paula has cracked it and Bird is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by De Paula!
