Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roscoe Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Wahl! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wahl but Wahl pushes him off and we're back to square one. Wahl decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wahl is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Wahl looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Wahl seems to be working for a kimura but Brown defends the submission attempt. Brown trying to hold on to Wahl's head to control him but Wahl postures up.
Wahl winds up and cracks Brown with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Wahl wants to work for an arm triangle but Brown is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wahl wants to free his trapped foot but Brown is holding on for dear life with his legs. Brown wants to control the action here but instead Wahl manages to pass to full mount! Brown tries to lock up and control but Wahl gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Brown is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wahl is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Brown is wriggling around trying to escape.

Wahl with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wahl avoids the attempt from Brown to control. Wahl looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brown defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Wahl. Brown is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Wahl won't let Brown get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Brown tries to lock up and control but Wahl gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Wahl lands a big elbow. Brown wants to hold on but Wahl pushes him away. Brown tries to get back to half guard but can't. Wahl is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Wahl!
