Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Paulsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnold Gutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulsen comes into the arena with Strippekikk blaring out of the sound system. Gutt comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mnemic - Wild Boys kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Arnold Gutt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Paulsen takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Paulsen jabs Gutt to the body, keeping him at a distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Paulsen looks to land a left hand but Gutt moved out of range nicely.
Paulsen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Gutt rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Paulsen counter with a right hand.

and Paulsen counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gutt thinking.
Gutt motions for Paulsen to come forward. Gutt throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Paulsen circles away from the clinch attempt
and Paulsen counters with an inside leg kick.

Paulsen feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gutt's calf.
Paulsen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Paulsen is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Gutt tries to clinch up.
Gutt is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Paulsen had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Paulsen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gutt at a distance.
Gutt looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gutt swings for the body but Paulsen moves out of range.

Some bone on bone action there as Gutt checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Paulsen thuds a left hand into Gutt's body.
Paulsen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Paulsen bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gutt's head.
That has opened up Arnold Gutt's cut even more.
A solid leg kick lands there for Paulsen.
Paulsen connects with a right hand. Gutt shakes it off.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Paulsen getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
The cut above Arnold Gutt's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Gutt takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gutt stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Paulsen.
Gutt takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Paulsen stuns Gutt with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Paulsen throws a looping overhand right but Gutt ducks down to avoid it.

Arnold Gutt's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
