Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tally Sedgewick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Theo Buckle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Theo Buckle!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sedgewick misses with a right hand

and Buckle counters with a takedown into side control.
Sedgewick is trying to control Buckle's posture but Buckle avoids it.
Sedgewick manages to work his way to half guard, despite Buckle's best efforts.
Sedgewick is trying to maintain the position but Buckle is very close to passing his half guard.
Buckle is looking to take a break and control but Sedgewick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sedgewick wants to improve his position but Buckle is controlling well.
Sedgewick wants to control but Buckle is keeping busy.

Buckle is trying to work for a kimura but Sedgewick is defending well.
Sedgewick is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sedgewick tries to lock up and control but Buckle gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Sedgewick on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sedgewick tries to get out of the position.
Sedgewick is squirming around, avoiding Buckle's attempts to control the action.
Buckle prevents Sedgewick from getting the reversal.

Sedgewick tries to hold on but Buckle pushes him away.
Sedgewick is desperately trying to improve his position but Buckle has a good base and remains in mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Buckle controlling the action here.
Buckle wants to take a breather but Sedgewick is having none of it.
Buckle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sedgewick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Buckle looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sedgewick with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sedgewick lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Sedgewick is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Buckle wants to pass the guard but Sedgewick is defending well.
Sedgewick tries to roll over but Buckle keeps him under control.
Sedgewick keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Sedgewick slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Buckle looking to pass the guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Buckle with a lazy takedown attempt

and Sedgewick counters with a takedown into side control.
Buckle is looking for a sweep.
Buckle seems a little lost for a moment, as Sedgewick dominates the positioning.
Sedgewick wants to control but Buckle is keeping him busy.
Buckle is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Buckle is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sedgewick works his way into full mount!
Buckle is breathing heavily.
Sedgewick controlling his opponent.

Sedgewick goes for an armbar but Buckle turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Buckle.

Buckle wants to control from the top but Sedgewick keeps moving.
Buckle might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sedgewick kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sedgewick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Buckle trying to control the position from guard on top but Sedgewick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Theo Buckle wasn't active enough on the ground.
Buckle with a poor takedown

and Sedgewick counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Buckle wants to improve his position but Sedgewick is controlling well.
Sedgewick is taking a breather. Buckle says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Buckle has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sedgewick is working away from the top position though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sedgewick lands a nice short elbow.
Sedgewick seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Buckle does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sedgewick connects with a nice short shot to Buckle's temple.
Sedgewick lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Buckle trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Sedgewick manages to pass to mount!

Sedgewick trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Sedgewick controlling the position easily from mount.
Sedgewick lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Buckle hang on?
Sedgewick controlling from mount.
Buckle gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tally Sedgewick dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Buckle moves to clinch but Sedgewick breaks away

and Sedgewick counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Buckle!
Sedgewick lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Sedgewick with the ground and pound from mount.
Sedgewick controlling the pace for now.
Sedgewick tries to control but Buckle wriggling away.
Sedgewick takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Sedgewick seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Buckle for as long as he can get away with.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sedgewick wants to finish this one by submission but Buckle is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sedgewick.
Buckle is working to get back to half guard.

You get the feeling that Buckle really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Sedgewick sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Sedgewick is working for a guillotine from mount but Buckle frees his head quite easily.
Buckle wants to control but Sedgewick is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Buckle wants to get back to his feet.
Sedgewick can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Buckle is looking to escape.

Sedgewick prevents Buckle from getting the reversal.
Buckle is trying to escape the mount but Sedgewick keeps good control and instead manages to take Buckle's back.

Tally Sedgewick showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Sedgewick has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
