Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Ester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirek Szymaniak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greg Ester had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.9lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Ester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mirek Szymaniak! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ester has his takedown stuffed and Szymaniak counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Szymaniak. Ester is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Szymaniak is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ester keeping full guard, as Szymaniak tries to pass. Szymaniak must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Szymaniak looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Ester has momentary wrist control but Szymaniak slips an elbow through the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ester is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Szymaniak throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ester tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Szymaniak is in Ester's guard. Szymaniak is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Szymaniak trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Szymaniak seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Szymaniak cracks Ester with a solid left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Szymaniak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ester swivels though and keeps the full guard. Szymaniak is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mirek Szymaniak. Szymaniak looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ester tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Szymaniak shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ester is trying to defend but Szymaniak finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Szymaniak perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Szymaniak working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Ester's thigh. Ester counters though and makes it back to full guard. Szymaniak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ester is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Szymaniak looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Let's hope that Szymaniak has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Mirek Szymaniak has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Szymaniak changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ester looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Szymaniak lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ester down.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Szymaniak is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ester is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Szymaniak just content to control the position. Ester manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Szymaniak is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Szymaniak stalling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mirek Szymaniak dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Ester counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ester. Szymaniak wants to stand up but Ester is controlling him. Szymaniak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ester is one step ahead there. Szymaniak has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ester is looking to stand up but Szymaniak won't let him.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mirek Szymaniak hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Szymaniak rushes Ester and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Szymaniak gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ester.
Szymaniak blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Szymaniak pulls Ester into guard.
Szymaniak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ester. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ester won't allow Szymaniak to get back to his feet. Szymaniak is pulling down on Ester's head. It's preventing any offense from Ester, at least for the moment. Szymaniak wants to stand up but Ester is controlling him. Szymaniak looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ester preventing the sweep. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Szymaniak can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ester doesn't succeed with the takedown and Szymaniak counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Szymaniak slips a nice elbow through Ester's hands, connecting with Ester's forehead. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Szymaniak's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mirek Szymaniak hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Szymaniak closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ester's guard. Szymaniak sitting in guard, not really doing much. Szymaniak scoring with punches to the head and body. Szymaniak landing some decent shots from guard. Szymaniak working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mirek Szymaniak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Ester's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Szymaniak fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ester sprawls well initially but Szymaniak persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Szymaniak stops Ester from getting back to his feet.

Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Szymaniak landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mirek Szymaniak has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Szymaniak wants to stand up but Ester has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Szymaniak has Ester pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Szymaniak pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ester tumbling to the mat - Szymaniak dives into Ester's guard. Szymaniak scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Szymaniak landing some decent shots from guard. Szymaniak is stalling in the full guard. Szymaniak sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ester's guard. Szymaniak controlling the pace. Szymaniak scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Szymaniak controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Szymaniak wants to stand but Ester has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Szymaniak winds up and cracks Ester with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Szymaniak working over Ester with some ground and pound. Ester looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Szymaniak seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mirek Szymaniak. Ester blocks a head kick by Szymaniak.
Szymaniak gets the takedown into side control. Szymaniak looks up at the clock and then as Ester takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Szymaniak smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Ester stops Szymaniak from passing to mount. Ester seems a little lost for a moment, as Szymaniak dominates the positioning. Szymaniak in side control lands a decent elbow. Ester is letting Szymaniak control him for a moment. Ester takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
And that's the end of the fight! Mirek Szymaniak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Szymaniak has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
