Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Slayton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dresden Carmichael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Slayton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dresden Carmichael! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carmichael misses with an attempted mid kick.
Slayton slips under a jab. Slayton scores with a jab to the body. Carmichael waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Slayton. Slayton scores with a punch to the head. Carmichael jabbing away but nothing is landing. Slayton misses with a looping left. Slayton fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Slayton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Carmichael's hands. A jab from Slayton finds it's way through Carmichael's defenses. Slayton fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Slayton slaps away a takedown attempt from Carmichael, before circling back to the center of the mat. Slayton takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Carmichael takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Slayton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carmichael swings for the body but Slayton moves out of range.

Slayton was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Andrew Slayton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carmichael feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Slayton's calf. Carmichael takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Good standup being displayed there by Slayton as he connects with a hook. A left and a right from Slayton both land. Nice combination.
Carmichael is rocked! Slayton misses with an uppercut. Carmichael is still on wobbly legs! Can Slayton finish him? Carmichael ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Slayton moves away. Carmichael seems to have recovered his senses. Andrew Slayton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Slayton throws a jab but it's blocked by Carmichael. Slayton looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Slayton on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Slayton bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Slayton jabbing away but nothing is landing. Carmichael slips a straight right by Slayton. Slayton is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Slayton throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Carmichael counters with a slapping leg kick. Good leg kick by Carmichael there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Slayton is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carmichael. Slayton throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Slayton lands a lovely overhand right. Carmichael uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Slayton.
Carmichael gets a clinch. A nice left hand lands by Carmichael.
Carmichael tries to land knees in the clinch but Slayton avoids the damage to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slayton wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Carmichael tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Slayton avoids it. Slayton is trying to break the clinch but Carmichael has him pressed against the cage. Carmichael looking to throw knees to the head but Slayton is blocking nicely.
Carmichael stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. A short body shot lands from Carmichael as the two fighters clinch.
Carmichael has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Slayton is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carmichael tries to score a body lock takedown but Slayton shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Andrew Slayton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dresden Carmichael. Carmichael lands a hook that snaps the head of Slayton backwards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Slayton dominated that round. That's time! Slayton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Slayton stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Carmichael misses the shot to the body. Slayton slips under a jab from Carmichael. Slayton throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Slayton connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Carmichael momentarily.

Slayton takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
An inside leg kick from Carmichael misses. Slayton fails to land with a series of punches.
Slayton throws a jab when Carmichael was well out of range. Carmichael needs to keep his hands up - Slayton had a free shot at his head there. Jab by Slayton. A low kick from Slayton is predictable there letting Carmichael counter with a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slayton throws the kick towards the body but Carmichael avoids it. Carmichael blocks a jab. A telegraphed right hand from Slayton misses the target. Slayton connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Carmichael takes a shot right to the bread basket. Slayton walks into a jab. A chopping leg kick lands by Slayton. Slayton misses with a wild body shot. Carmichael throws a looping overhand right but Slayton ducks down to avoid it. Carmichael ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Slayton swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Slayton moves forwards but Carmichael connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slayton loads up on a big right hand but Carmichael slips the punch. Slayton ducks under a wild hook from Carmichael. Carmichael closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Carmichael connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Slayton momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Slayton lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Carmichael swings for the body but Slayton moves out of range.
Slayton jabs Carmichael right on the nose. Carmichael blinks but takes it well. Carmichael keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Slayton. Slayton thumps Carmichael with a low kick. Slayton thows a body shot but no joy. Carmichael shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Carmichael looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carmichael is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Carmichael controlling from mount. Carmichael moves to back control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carmichael controls the position. Carmichael working for a choke but Slayton is defending well. Carmichael biding his time, looking for the opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Dresden Carmichael will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Slayton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carmichael passes easily into side control. Nice work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dresden Carmichael was stalling too much, according to the referee. Slayton throws a lazy uppercut
and Carmichael counters by clinching up. Slayton is trying to break the clinch but Carmichael has him pressed against the cage. A short body shot lands from Carmichael as the two fighters clinch.
Carmichael misses with a knee to the head. Carmichael lands a right hand. Carmichael unloads a knee to the mid-section. Slayton lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. A bit of stalling here from Carmichael.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slayton prevents a body shot from Carmichael. Nice body punch from Carmichael - that landed with a thud.

And that's the end of the fight! Dresden Carmichael comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Carmichael has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
