Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between PR Bjj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patricio Rujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, PR Bjj! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patricio Rujo! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bjj connects with a body shot. Bjj goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Rujo slaps away a takedown attempt from Bjj, before circling back to the center of the mat. Rujo circles away from the clinch attempt and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Bjj tries to clinch but Rujo moves away and Rujo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Rujo wants to advance to full mount but Bjj doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Bjj keeping moving, preventing Rujo from controlling successfully. Rujo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bjj is trying to control the position but Rujo postures up. Rujo trying to control the position from guard on top but Bjj is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rujo throwing strikes but missing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rujo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rujo passes Bjj's left leg - he's now in half guard. Bjj trying to hold on to Rujo's head to control him but Rujo postures up.
Bjj keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rujo controlling the pace. Bjj is doing well to control the position and prevent Rujo from advancing to side control. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Bjj is looking to control Rujo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bjj avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Well, if Rujo is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
We're going to have a standup here because PR Bjj wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Rujo fails with the takedown. Bjj shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Bjj is trying to control the action in half guard but Rujo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Rujo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rujo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bjj is working away from the top position though. Bjj looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Rujo wants to improve his position but Bjj is controlling well.

Rujo is trying to stand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bjj wants to control but Rujo is keeping him busy. Rujo trying to hold on to Bjj's head to control him but Bjj postures up.
Rujo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bjj. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rujo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bjj counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Rujo looks gassed! Bjj stands up out of the half guard. Rujo misses with a takedown attempt and Bjj counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. PR Bjj has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patricio Rujo. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bjj scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Bjj controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
PR Bjj dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Bjj closes the distance and clinches up with Rujo, looking for a takedown. Bjj pushes Rujo against the cage but Rujo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bjj keeps the fight on the outside. Rujo closes the distance but Bjj moves to the side and Bjj counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Bjj stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Bjj misses with the body kick and Rujo counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Rujo breaks from the clinch.
Bjj gets a double leg takedown into Rujo's guard. Bjj slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Bjj wants to control from the top but Rujo keeps moving. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rujo trying to control the position here. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Bjj stopping the sweep attempt from Rujo. Bjj trying to control but Rujo is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up because PR Bjj just wasn't active enough. Rujo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bjj napping and manages to drive through into side control! Bjj struggling a bit here. Rujo works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Bjj is not content to let Rujo control the position. Bjj is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rujo's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fighters are battling for position here. Bjj manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bjj is trying to keep Rujo in close.
Bjj wants to stand and escape but Rujo is having none of it. Rujo trying to control but Bjj is working from the bottom. Rujo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Bjj is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rujo is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Patricio Rujo wasn't active enough on the ground. Rujo getting the better of the striking in that exchange. PR Bjj is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bjj shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rujo sprawls well. Rujo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bjj gets slowly back to his feet. Bjj shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Rujo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rujo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for PR Bjj. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bjj looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Rujo puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Rujo is controlling the pace.
Bjj looking for submissions from an awkward position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Patricio Rujo will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Bjj takes a kick to the side of the head. Bjj stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bjj wants it to stay on the feet. Rujo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bjj counters with a shoot takedown. Rujo fights it but they end up in guard. Rujo working a defensive guard here.
Rujo keeping moving, preventing Bjj from controlling successfully. Rujo looking for a sweep. Not yet Rujo, not yet. Bjj gets to his feet. Rujo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bjj misses with a body kick. Bjj forces Rujo back against the cage and clinches. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bjj is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Bjj is working for takedown but Rujo is calmly controlling the position for now. Rujo pulls guard effortlessly. Rujo keeping moving, preventing Bjj from controlling successfully. Rujo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Rujo keeping full guard, as Bjj tries to pass. Rujo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bjj is aware though and is defending well. Rujo wants to stand up but Bjj is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bjj trying to control the position from guard on top but Rujo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bjj accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bjj stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rujo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bjj trying to control but Rujo is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. PR Bjj wasn't doing enough on the ground. Bjj moves to clinch but Rujo breaks away and Rujo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rujo. Bjj trying to control the position but instead, Rujo has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bjj into the cage. Rujo wants the takedown. Bjj is fighting it off but Rujo persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bjj's guard against the cage. Rujo scoring with punches to the head and body. Bjj has control of Rujo's left arm, preventing Rujo from doing any damage. Rujo with a flurry of punches that miss. Bjj bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rujo's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rujo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bjj is one step ahead there. Rujo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rujo manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Bjj looks to score with a jab to the body but Rujo is just out of range. Rujo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. It looks like Rujo is going to stand back up.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Patricio Rujo. I think Rujo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
