Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Van Dez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nickolai Zhukov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zhukov has chosen Hands of a Killer as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhukov fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Van Dez swings widly with a right hand
and Zhukov makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Van Dez attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Zhukov throws a right hand that Van Dez ducks under and follows up with a left that Van Dez also avoids with ease.

and Zhukov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Van Dez won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zhukov looks up at the clock and then as Van Dez takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Zhukov smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Van Dez tries to buck Zhukov off but he can't manage it.

Poor strikes thrown by Zhukov there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Van Dez's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The referee warns Van Dez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zhukov is landing with some decent strikes but Van Dez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Van Dez wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Zhukov.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Zhukov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Zhukov is pressing down on Van Dez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Van Dez is holding on for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Van Dez takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jeez, Jan Van Dez's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jan Van Dez's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
