The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lighty gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows The Deathwalker to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lighty wants to sweep here but The Deathwalker controlling him for the moment.
Lighty wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Deathwalker pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lighty is keeping the position for now.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The Deathwalker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lighty counters with a single leg into guard. The Deathwalker didn't expect that.
Lighty throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as The Deathwalker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Lighty lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The Deathwalker is looking to stand up but Lighty isn't so interested in that idea.
The Deathwalker has his foot on Lighty's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lighty works his way back into a safe position though.

Lighty arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! The Deathwalker's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
