Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Quick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dixon might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Clash - I Fought The Law. Quick has chosen Indestructible, by Disturbed as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Dixon! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Quick! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dixon gets a clinch. Quick has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dixon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Dixon gets a trip takedown into half guard. Quick looking for submissions from an awkward position here. It looks like Dixon is going to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Quick looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Dixon is looking to take a break and control but Quick is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dixon seems to be working for a kimura but Quick defends the submission attempt. Dixon wants to get back to his feet.
Dixon gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Quick gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dixon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Dixon moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Quick. Dixon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Quick has escaped the position, nice work there. Dixon decides to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dixon rushes Quick and presses him up against the cage. Dixon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Quick.
Peter Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Quick. Quick's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. That's three minutes gone in the round. Quick escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dixon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Quick is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Dixon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dixon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Quick lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Dixon! Dixon really wants to buck Quick off and get back to his feet. Quick working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Dixon is working to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dixon tries to buck Quick off but he can't manage it. Quick trying to control but he's not successful this time. Quick is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dixon can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Quick is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dixon can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Dixon drops back looking for a leg! Quick is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Quick manages to kick Dixon off! Dixon jumps back into Quick's guard. Quick controls Dixon momentarily but Dixon frees himself. Dixon is looking to stand up but Quick won't let him. Quick is looking for a triangle here but Dixon uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Quick pushes Dixon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dixon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Quick closes the distance and pushes Dixon back into the cage. Dixon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dixon connects with a right hand. Quick shakes it off. Peter Dixon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Quick closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Quick tries to work over Dixon's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Dixon gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Quick regains guard.

Peter Dixon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dixon keeping moving, preventing Quick from controlling successfully. Dixon has his foot on Quick's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Quick works his way back into a safe position though. Dixon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Dixon kicks Quick off and gets to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Quick rushes Dixon and presses him up against the cage. Dixon lands a takedown into guard.
Dixon is looking to stand up but Quick won't let him. Quick is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dixon is aware though and is defending well. Dixon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Quick swivels though and keeps the full guard. Quick is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dixon defends well.

Dixon is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Quick to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Quick shrugs it off. Quick keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Quick jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dixon walks away with a smile on his face. Quick gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Dixon gets a clinch. Quick has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dixon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Dixon has picked Quick up - he's going for a ride! Dixon dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Quick looks like he's trying to stand up.

Quick is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Dixon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Quick throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Dixon counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Quick moves out of range of the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quick closes the distance and pushes Dixon back into the cage. Dixon tightens his grip and picks Quick up, before dumping him to the ground. Quick manages to land in guard. Quick wriggles free and stands up. Quick is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Dixon lands a right hook to the body.
Dixon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Quick napping and manages to drive through into side control! Dixon decides to take the fight back to the feet. Dixon is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Quick's half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quick tries to get to full guard but Dixon has control of the leg. Dixon is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Dixon stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Quick thows a left - swing and a miss! Quick rushes Dixon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Quick tries to pull guard but Dixon won't allow it.

Quick wants to get back to his feet. Quick manages to escape and get back to his feet! Dixon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dixon decides to stand back up. Dixon steps back and let's Quick get back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Quick fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dixon, pushing him back against the cage. A left hand lands to the body for Quick.
