Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Owen Schmitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmitt kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is In God We Trust - Stryper. Hudson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Roll Over DJ. Gary Hudson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Owen Schmitt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Hudson! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schmitt thows a left - swing and a miss! Hudson misses with a takedown attempt - Schmitt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Schmitt throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hudson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Hudson has Schmitt pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hudson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Schmitt tumbling to the mat - Hudson dives into Schmitt's guard. Schmitt trying to keep a closed guard but Hudson is proving a slippery customer.
Hudson stays in close to Schmitt's body and controls the position. Hudson trying to control the position from guard on top but Schmitt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hudson wants to stand but Schmitt has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Hudson wants to control from the top but Schmitt keeps moving.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Gary Hudson wasn't active enough on the ground. Schmitt closes the distance and pushes Hudson back into the cage. Schmitt working some nice short punches in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schmitt is trying to force a seperation but Hudson has the dominant position. Hudson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Schmitt regains guard.
Hudson stands up from Schmitt's guard - Hudson perhaps looking for a knockout. Schmitt leaves Hudson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hudson connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Schmitt scores with a nice head shot. Schmitt misses with a straight right. Hudson tries to clinch up. Schmitt connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Hudson throws a lazy right hand but Schmitt sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Hudson counters with a body kick that stops Schmitt in his tracks momentarily. Schmitt throws a sloppy head kick and Hudson counters with a series of strikes. Schmitt will be more careful next time no doubt. Schmitt leaves Hudson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Owen Schmitt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Hudson. Schmitt swings widly with a right hand
and Hudson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hudson postures up in Schmitt's guard and throws a big left but Schmitt blocks it. Schmitt keeping moving, preventing Hudson from controlling successfully. Hudson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Schmitt trying to keep a closed guard but Hudson is proving a slippery customer.
Hudson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hudson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Schmitt had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hudson defends it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schmitt is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hudson defends well. Schmitt looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Schmitt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hudson. Hudson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hudson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Schmitt keeping moving, preventing Hudson from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schmitt thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Hudson stopping the sweep attempt from Schmitt. Schmitt manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hudson manages to get himself to full guard.

Schmitt trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Schmitt slips nicely into half guard. Schmitt stops Hudson from getting back to his feet.
Schmitt is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Hudson still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Hudson has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Hudson controlling the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hudson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schmitt keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Hudson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Schmitt's guard. Hudson wants to control from the top but Schmitt keeps moving. Schmitt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

and Hudson counters with a nice body shot. Hudson drives through and clinches with Schmitt against the cage.
Hudson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Schmitt's efforts to push away. Hudson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Schmitt sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Hudson is working for a submission of some sort.

Schmitt gets full guard. Hudson chips away with some ground and pound. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Schmitt wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Hudson stands up over Schmitt, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hudson wants to control from the top but Schmitt keeps moving. Hudson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hudson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Schmitt's head. Hudson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Schmitt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hudson is one step ahead there. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hudson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hudson stands up from Schmitt's guard - Hudson perhaps looking for a knockout. Hudson avoids a punch combination nicely.

The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hudson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
