Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erevis Cale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jang Jung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Erevis Cale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jang Jung!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cale scores with a leg kick.

Jung has Cale up against the cage in a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Cale tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jung avoids it.
Cale is trying to maintain a safe position but Jung gets an underhook and turns Cale into the cage.
Cale just leaning against Jung, taking a breather.
Cale prevents Jung from breaking the clinch.
Cale throws a knee to the head but misses.
Jung tries to pull guard but Cale won't allow it.
Cale is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Jung on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Jung is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cale is defending well for now.

Jung pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jung stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cale.
Cale tries for a takedown but Jung sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jung moves into the clinch.

Cale escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cale throws a head kick that misses.

Jung clinches.
Cale using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jung has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Cale is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jung is defending well for now.
Jung has Cale pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Cale manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Jung has had enough of the clinch but Cale keeps him there for the moment.
Cale on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Cale breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cale throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jung.

Jung falls off balance throwing a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Jung clinches up against the cage.
Come on Cale - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Cale's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Cale shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jung manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jung wants to stand and escape but Cale is having none of it.
Cale postures up in Jung's guard and throws a big left but Jung blocks it.
Jung keeping moving, preventing Cale from controlling successfully.
Jung seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cale slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Cale drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jung looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jung looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jung!
The strikes coming from Jung are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Cale dodges the ground and pound from Jung.
Cale is looking for a sweep.
Cale stops Jung from passing to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jung landing strikes.
Cale is trying to improve his position.
Cale is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jung off and has taken his back!
Jung manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Jung.
Cale trying to control but Jung is working from the bottom.
Jung is looking to stand up but Cale isn't so interested in that idea.
Cale has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Jung looks gassed!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cale working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Cale stands up and waves to Jung to follow him.

Cale clinches with his opponent.

Jung tries to stall but Cale uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Jung is working for takedown but Cale is calmly controlling the position for now.
Erevis Cale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jang Jung.
Jung takes a knee right on the jaw!
Cale blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Cale stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Cale on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

An inside leg kick lands from Cale.
Jung shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cale but Cale pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jung changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cale tries to avoid it but Jung manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cale to the ground. Cale escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Cale counters by clinching up.
The referee is keeping an eye on Cale - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Jung misses with a body punch.

Jung is breathing heavily.
Cale tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Cale pulls Jung in close to prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Erevis Cale.
Cale stuffs the takedown attempt from Jung. Jung gets slowly back to his feet.
Erevis Cale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jang Jung.

Cale dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jung. That did some damage!

Cale gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Cale lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Cale is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jung blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cale.
Cale thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jung's head.
Jung is refusing to be controlled, as Cale sits in half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We're going to have a standup here because Erevis Cale wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Jung takes the fight into the clinch.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cale jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jung walks away with a smile on his face. Cale gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Cale.
Cale lands with an uppercut that bounces Jung off the cage and back into rage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erevis Cale dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Cale thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jung if he has to take too many more of those.

Jung throws a right and a left that both miss.

Jung rushes Cale and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Cale has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jung regains guard immediately.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jung takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Cale scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jung doesn't seem bothered though.

Cale drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Cale not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Cale loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Cale advances to half guard.
Cale seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jung does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jung dives in and grabs Cale's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cale pushes down on Jung's head and hops out.
Cale throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jung's head.
Jang Jung seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cale pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cale throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jung's waist but Jung gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cale off to one side.

Cale fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jung, pushing him back against the cage.

Cale shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cale darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jung accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Erevis Cale is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jung has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cale is proving hard to escape from.
Jung throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cale works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cale is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Erevis Cale showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Cale has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
