The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lannister looks to land a right hand but Gabriel moved out of range.
A combination from Gabriel does no damage.
Gabriel lands with a nice combination. Lannister backs away looking to recover.
Gabriel fails to land with a series of punches.
Lannister misses with a wild body shot.
Gabriel throws a right hand that Lannister ducks under and follows up with a left that Lannister also avoids with ease.
Gabriel misses with a few strikes there.
Gabriel lands a two punch combo.
Lannister throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gabriel was covering up waiting for the punch and Lannister finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lannister thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gabriel can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lannister is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gabriel defends it well.

Lannister is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gabriel is just riding it out for now. Lannister eventually gives up the hold.

Lannister lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Gabriel quite badly. Gabriel pulls Lannister in close trying to recover. Lannister postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Gabriel on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Gabriel doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
