The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurstr�m and Anni Minnem�ki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harper falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Henderson counter with a right hand.
Harper closes the distance looking to clinch
and Henderson counters with a stiff right hand.
Harper with a poor takedown
and Henderson counters with a stiff right hand.
Harper swings widly with a right hand
and Henderson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Harper ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Henderson blocks a head kick by Harper.
Harper doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Henderson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Melvin Harper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Harper gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Henderson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Mike Henderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Melvin Harper.
Harper with a poor takedown
and Henderson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Harper looks gassed!
Harper swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Henderson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Henderson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Harper doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Henderson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Henderson misses with a straight right.
Harper uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Henderson.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harper fails with the takedown
and Henderson counters with a right hand to the body.
Harper is trying desperately to land a takedown but Henderson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Harper.
Henderson jabs Harper right on the nose. Harper blinks but takes it well.
Harper closes the distance looking to clinch
and Harper takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Harper is rocked!
Harper takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Henderson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Harper moves away.
Henderson throws a monster overhand right that drops Harper! Henderson follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Henderson!
