Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kezie Uche Duru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ramberto Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz gets caught flat footed, as Duru shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Duru will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Duru throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cruz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Duru tries to free his leg and advance position but Cruz is retaining full guard.
Duru working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Cruz looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Duru passes into side control.
Duru is working Cruz over with some ground and pound from side control.
Duru trying to control the position but Cruz is working away.
Duru wants to take a breather but Cruz manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Duru.
Duru looking to sit in guard and control but Cruz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cruz passes Duru's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Duru knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cruz on the ground.

Cruz tries to pass to full mount but Duru defends it.
Duru tries to get to full guard but Cruz has control of the leg.
Duru is working hard here to advance position.
Duru trying to hold on to Cruz's head to control him but Cruz postures up.
Cruz works his way into side control.
Duru manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duru trying to control from Cruz's half guard. Cruz has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Duru loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Cruz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duru doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Cruz is tightening it up a little... Duru has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Duru reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Duru taps out! nice BJJ there by Cruz!
