Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Julius Africanus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Seijurou Yoshioka!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshioka throws a hook to the side of Africanus's head but Africanus sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Africanus steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Yoshioka.
The fighters circling - Yoshioka throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Yoshioka with a nice cross.
It looks like Julius Africanus has been cut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Africanus moves out of range as Yoshioka strikes.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Africanus lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Yoshioka has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Yoshioka and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Yoshioka misses with a double jab
and Africanus counters with a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Africanus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yoshioka manages to avoid it.
Yoshioka scores with a nice head shot.
Yoshioka lands a left and a right that send Africanus crashing to the mat, dazed. Yoshioka thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Africanus is rocked!
Yoshioka lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Africanus circles away quickly and effectively.
Yoshioka pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Yoshioka throws an overhand right that lands on Africanus's shoulder, as Africanus tries to avoid the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yoshioka tries to bum rush Africanus with a series of wild strikes but Africanus uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Africanus throws a lazy head kick
and Yoshioka connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Oh Africanus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Julius Africanus's cut is getting worse.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yoshioka moves in close and cracks Africanus with a massive right hand! Africanus, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Yoshioka!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Seijurou Yoshioka!
