Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rubin Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alex Blaze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rubin Carter!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Blaze with that takedown attempt.

Carter tries to keep at a distance but Blaze has taken the fight into the clinch.
Carter has had enough of the clinch but Blaze keeps him there for the moment.

Blaze gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Carter looking to control.
Carter should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Blaze slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Carter has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Blaze is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Carter.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Carter is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Blaze has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carter's face.
Blaze tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Blaze cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Carter wants to hold on but Blaze pushes him away.
Blaze controlling the pace for now.
Carter is wriggling around trying to escape.

Blaze with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Blaze takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Carter is working to get back to half guard.
Blaze controlling from the full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carter fails with a takedown attempt.
Alex Blaze is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Carter gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Blaze lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Blaze content to control rather than advance.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Alex Blaze just wasn't active enough.
Carter throws a right and a left that Blaze avoids nicely.
Carter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Blaze rushes Carter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Blaze manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Carter gets caught flat footed, as Blaze shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Carter can't keep his opponent in guard - Blaze advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Carter is breathing heavily.
Blaze controlling the action here.
Carter is in trouble now - Blaze has advanced to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carter is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Blaze has taken his back!
Blaze lands strikes to the head.
Blaze slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Blaze has the hooks in. Carter is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
What can Carter do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Blaze controlling the position well here. Carter rolled but Blaze kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carter trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Blaze is landing with strikes from the back.

Alex Blaze dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Blaze takes the fight into the clinch.
Carter tries to score a body lock takedown but Blaze shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Carter fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Carter jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Blaze walks away with a smile on his face. Carter gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Alex Blaze has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rubin Carter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carter gets caught napping as Blaze dives in and scores a takedown. Carter manages to retain guard.
Blaze throws a big right hand that misses.
Carter working a defensive guard but Blaze passes into half guard.
Carter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Blaze in particular looking to stall.

Blaze will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Blaze passes to side control.
Blaze advances to full mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Blaze controlling the position easily from mount.

Blaze has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Blaze scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Alex Blaze is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Alex Blaze overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Carter tries to hold on but Blaze pushes him away.
Blaze controlling from mount.
Blaze's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Blaze is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Carter can do to turn this around?

Blaze manages to capitalize on a mistake by Carter to take his back!

Well Blaze has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
