Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jokke Mokkelime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Swanson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jokke Mokkelime!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Swanson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mokkelime with a lazy takedown attempt
and Swanson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mokkelime thinking.
Mokkelime swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Swanson misses with a straight right.
A slapping leg kick lands for Swanson.
Mokkelime with a poor takedown
and Swanson counters with a nice uppercut.
Swanson works the jab nicely.
Mokkelime scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Swanson is looking for a sweep.
Swanson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mokkelime is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Swanson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mokkelime's head.
Mokkelime is trying to escape back to his feet but Swanson uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Swanson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mokkelime will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Swanson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mokkelime, who protects the arm well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mokkelime trying to control but Swanson flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Swanson connects with a nice short shot to Mokkelime's temple.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mokkelime moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Mokkelime wants to get back to his feet but Swanson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Swanson has his foot on Mokkelime's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mokkelime works his way back into a safe position though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mokkelime accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mokkelime's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Mokkelime is just content to waste time from the top position. Swanson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Swanson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mokkelime controls the pace.
