The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a combination. Smith tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Smith checks a low kick from Thompson.
Smith circles away from the clinch attempt
and Smith counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Smith connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Thompson wants to clinch
and Smith counters with a takedown into side control.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Smith has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Thompson doesn't defend quickly enough and Smith has managed to lock this one up! Can Thompson escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Smith on a fantastic submission victory.
