Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Masayoshi Tanimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ Longwe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Longwe is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Solo. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Masayoshi Tanimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, BJ Longwe!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longwe just misses with a punch to the body.

Longwe has taken the fight to the clinch.
Longwe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Longwe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Longwe shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tanimura manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Longwe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Longwe is looking to stand up but Tanimura won't let him.
Tanimura is adopting a defensive guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Masayoshi Tanimura just wasn't active enough.

Longwe has closed the distance and engaged Tanimura in a clinch.

Longwe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Tanimura counters with a nice double leg into side control. Longwe won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Longwe can do anything to dispel that myth.

Tanimura lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Longwe down.

We're going to have a standup here because Masayoshi Tanimura wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Tanimura dives in and grabs Longwe's left leg, looking for a takedown. Longwe pushes down on Tanimura's head and hops out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tanimura throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Longwe leaves Tanimura with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Longwe shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Longwe was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Longwe sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Longwe jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tanimura is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tanimura and Longwe has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tanimura is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Longwe is stalling here. Tanimura is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Longwe seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Tanimura has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Tanimura has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Longwe takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Tanimura's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Masayoshi Tanimura showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tanimura, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
