Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Heath Legg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rush Syckes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Legg comes to the cage accompanied by Angel of Death. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Heath Legg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rush Syckes!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Legg wants to clinch.
Syckes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Syckes throws a right hand that Legg ducks under and follows up with a left that Legg also avoids with ease.
Syckes misses with a body kick.
Legg fails with an attempt to clinch.
Legg blocks a leg kick.
Legg wants to clinch.
Legg misses with a series of wild punches.

Syckes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Legg looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Syckes tries to score with some ground and pound. Legg controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Syckes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A close round but Rush Syckes will probably get the nod.
That's time! Legg's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

so Legg counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Syckes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Legg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Legg passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Legg wants to lay and pray for a moment but Syckes keeps working.

Legg tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Legg has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Syckes looks to move to half guard but instead Legg has passed into mount! Damn!

Legg avoids the attempt from Syckes to control.
Syckes keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Legg tries to control but Syckes wriggling away.

Legg goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Syckes turns into him and now he's in Legg's guard.
Syckes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Legg lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Syckes!

Legg swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Syckes is now in Legg's guard. A big mistake from Legg there, giving up the dominant position!

Syckes throws a strike but Legg rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Legg got a little sloppy there for a moment and Syckes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Legg has managed to get both his arms back between Syckes's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Syckes can do anything to dispel that myth.

Syckes has left one of his arms exposed and Legg doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Syckes screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
