Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hosking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Hosking!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fred Patterson!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hosking darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Patterson wants to improve his position but Hosking is controlling well.
Hosking wants to lay and pray for a moment but Patterson keeps working.
Patterson tries to get to full guard but Hosking has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Patterson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hosking is trying to control the action in half guard but Patterson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hosking fails to pull guard.
Patterson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hosking is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Patterson to the mat. Patterson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hosking stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Patterson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hosking wants to get up but he can't break Patterson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Patterson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hosking can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hosking stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Patterson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Patterson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Patterson keeping moving, preventing Hosking from controlling successfully.

Hosking is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Patterson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hosking is looking to defend but Patterson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hosking! Patterson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hosking taps out and this one is all over!
