Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rayne Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Byrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rayne Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Byrd! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Miller fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Miller!
Byrd pushes Miller up against the cage in a clinch. Byrd has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Miller is trying to keep an underhook but Byrd manages to get the takedown into half guard. Miller trying to control but Byrd postures up.
Byrd prevents Miller from standing back up.
Byrd trying to mount his opponent but Miller defends it. Byrd is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Byrd raining down shots from the mount! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Miller is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Byrd with a couple of short strikes. Byrd postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Miller looks a forlorn figure.
Miller swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Byrd has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Miller is squirming around, avoiding Byrd's attempts to control the action. Byrd sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Miller swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Miller regains half guard. Miller wants to get back to full guard. Miller works his way to full guard. Good work. Byrd not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Byrd thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Byrd preventing the sweep. Byrd trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Byrd prevents Miller from getting back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Byrd trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Byrd wants to pass the guard but Miller is keeping the position. Byrd looks gassed!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Miller takes the fight into the clinch. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Miller misses with the head strike.
Byrd goes for a takedown attempt but Miller pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Byrd shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Miller trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Miller wants to get back to his feet but Byrd is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Byrd loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Miller is looking to stand up but Byrd isn't so interested in that idea. Miller keeping moving, preventing Byrd from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Byrd gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Byrd pushing down on Miller's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Miller slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Miller manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller lands a heavy elbow. Byrd wants to control but Miller is having none of it. Miller wants to control the pace but Byrd is squirming around nicely. Miller lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Miller tries to control but Byrd wriggling away. Byrd is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Miller has hold of Byrd's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Byrd manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Miller throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Byrd is desperately trying to improve his position but Miller has a good base and remains in mount. Byrd regains half guard. Byrd has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Miller is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rayne Miller will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Byrd passes easily into side control. Nice work. Miller sneaks back into half guard. Byrd wants to pass the guard but Miller is defending well. Byrd is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Miller doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Byrd. Mario Byrd has got the better of the ground game so far. Byrd works his foot free and advances to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Miller is trying to stand up. Miller working to try and regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Byrd fails to take his opponent's back. Miller looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Miller is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Good control from Byrd. Byrd throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Miller!
Byrd is working for a rear naked choke. Miller is not defending it well and Byrd has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Miller refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Miller's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
