PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Craigie Bee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neville Champman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Craigie Bee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Neville Champman!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Champman throws a leg kick
and Bee counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Bee moves out of range of the body kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Champman.
Neville Champman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Champman tries to score with a low kick but Bee moves his leg out of the way.
Champman throws a body kick that misses.
A punch lands to the side of Champman 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Champman is looking to chop away at Bee's legs.
Bee blocks a head kick by Champman.

Champman misses with a low kick.
Bee swings widly with a right hand
and Champman counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Champman takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

A punch lands to the side of Champman 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Champman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bee pinned against the cage. Bee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Bee counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Bee shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bee takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Champman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Champman not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Bee trying to control but Champman postures up.
Champman is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Champman is stalling here. Bee is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Champman seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bee has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Bee is looking to take a break and control but Champman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bee looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Champman is avoiding damage well.
Bee throws a strike aimed at the side of Champman's head but Champman avoids it well.
Bee tries to advance to mount but can't.
Bee working the strikes but Champman uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Bee stalling away here and it's allowed Champman to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Champman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Champman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Bee counters with a left and a right that stings Champman.

Bee creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Champman sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Bee is looking to work some ground and pound but Champman has wrist control.

Bee drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Champman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bee has Champman in his guard.

Bee pulls Champman in to control the position.

Bee working for a triangle but Champman defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Champman defends it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bee has momentary wrist control but Champman slips an elbow through the middle.
Champman showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Bee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Champman is one step ahead there.
Bee keeping moving, preventing Champman from controlling successfully.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Craigie Bee dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Champman misses with a kick to the body
and Bee counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bee lands a jab to Champman's midsection.
A clash of legs there as Bee blocks the low kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Bee checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Champman throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Bee counters with a nice uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bee catches Champman with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Champman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Bee steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Champman. That one must have hurt.

Champman misses with a low kick.
Champman throws a head kick that misses
enabling Bee to counter with a crisp jab.
Bee checks a leg kick.
Bee throws a lazy right hand but Champman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Bee lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Champman circles away quickly and effectively.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A good leg kick by Champman.

and Bee counters with a nice low kick that buckles Champman's knee momentarily.
Horrible takedown by Champman or perhaps it was just good defense by Bee which made him look bad.

and Bee decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Champman's guard.
Bee postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Champman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bee wants to control from the top but Champman keeps moving.

Champman controls Bee momentarily but Bee frees himself.
Champman manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bee keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Craigie Bee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Champman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bee is looking to escape.
Champman content just to control the position here.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Craigie Bee.
I think Bee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
