Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, George McMillan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Pavlov! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McMillan throws a sloppy head kick and Pavlov moves out of range easily. McMillan doesn't succeed with the takedown so Pavlov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. McMillan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Pavlov tries to hold on but McMillan pushes him away. McMillan has control of Pavlov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pavlov regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Pavlov is trying to escape the mount.
Pavlov flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Pavlov is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Pavlov bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Pavlov is in close to McMillan's body, working some short punches and elbows. Pavlov got a little sloppy there for a moment and McMillan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pavlov has managed to get both his arms back between McMillan's legs - danger averted. Pavlov lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pavlov distracts McMillan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pavlov connects with a couple of short punches.
McMillan is rocked! Pavlov is working McMillan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Oh McMillan is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Pavlov arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! McMillan's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Boris Pavlov!
