Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacque Francois! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sal Tony! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Francois looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Tony looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Francois drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Francois jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Francois is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Tony tries to land a sweep but no joy. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Francois seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Francois drops back looking for a leg! Tony is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tony manages to kick Francois off! Francois jumps back into Tony's guard. Tony looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round. Francois drops back looking for a leg! Tony is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tony manages to kick Francois off! Francois jumps back into Tony's guard. Francois controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Francois passes into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Francois is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tony defends it well. Francois is pressing down on Tony's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tony is holding on for now. Francois takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Tony won't allow Francois to pass to mount. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tony is looking to control Francois's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tony avoid being mounted? Francois is working for a submission of some sort.

Francois wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Tony is working for a kimura but Francois is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Francois is trying is best to control the position here. Tony is looking to take a break and control but Francois is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jacque Francois overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Francois looking for submissions off his back. Francois moves into full guard.
Francois is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Francois has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tony can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jacque Francois will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Tony shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Francois defends it nicely. Francois tests Tony's chin there with a solid looking shot. Francois is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tony. Excellent takedown into side control there by Francois. Francois looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Francois is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Tony will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Francois has an Americana. Tony didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Francois is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Francois hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
