Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hiro Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benson Hamaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benson Hamaka has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Maeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Benson Hamaka!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hamaka throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Maeda tumbling to the canvas!


Maeda is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hamaka trying to control the position from guard on top but Maeda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Oh Maeda is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hamaka has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Maeda is proving hard to escape from.
Maeda is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Maeda seems to have got his legs back now.
Hamaka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maeda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maeda has his feet on Hamaka's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Hamaka tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Maeda swivels and escapes.
Hamaka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hamaka throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Hamaka avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hamaka lands a jab to Maeda's midsection.
Hamaka misses with a few strikes there.
Maeda rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hamaka moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hamaka throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Hamaka misses with a two punch combination.

Hamaka looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Maeda!

Hamaka looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Maeda slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Maeda is breathing heavily.
Maeda tries to roll over but Hamaka keeps him under control.
Maeda keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Maeda works his way to full guard. Good work.
Hamaka would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Maeda is looking for a triangle but Hamaka pushes his legs off easily.
Maeda has a closed guard, preventing Hamaka from standing up.
Maeda keeping moving, preventing Hamaka from controlling successfully.

Maeda is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Maeda trying to keep a closed guard but Hamaka is proving a slippery customer.

Hamaka wants to stand but Maeda has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hamaka wants to control from the top but Maeda keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Maeda drives through and clinches with Hamaka against the cage.
Maeda's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hamaka wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Maeda tries to pull guard but Hamaka holds him up against the cage and eventually Maeda drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hiro Maeda. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hamaka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Hamaka. No joy for Maeda on that attempt.
Maeda shoots in looking for a takedown. Hamaka tries to sprawl out of it but Maeda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hamaka manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Maeda takes the fight into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Maeda keeps control of Hamaka as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The is referee keeping an eye on Maeda - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Hamaka wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Maeda manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Maeda wants a takedown but no success here.
Hamaka gets underhooks to prevent Maeda's takedown attempt.

Maeda manages to break the clinch.
Hamaka tests Maeda's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Maeda fails with the takedown.
Hamaka tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maeda paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Maeda shoots in for a double leg but Hamaka sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hamaka uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Maeda.

Hamaka connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Maeda scores a takedown into full mount!
Hamaka wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Hamaka tries to hold on but Maeda postures up.
Hamaka is in all sorts of trouble here.
Maeda throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Hamaka working to try and regain half guard.

Maeda goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hamaka turns into him and now he's in Maeda's guard.

Hamaka won't allow Maeda to get back to his feet.
Maeda manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hamaka manages to get himself to full guard.

Maeda gets to his feet - Hamaka follows without any prompting.
Maeda misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hamaka connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Horrible takedown by Maeda or perhaps it was just good defense by Hamaka which made him look bad.
Hamaka lands a with a good body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Maeda forces Hamaka back against the cage and clinches.

Maeda drags the fight down to the ground.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Hamaka wants to stand but Maeda has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hamaka postures up in Maeda's guard and throws a big left but Maeda blocks it.
Hamaka is fighting to break Maeda's control of his arms but Maeda is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Maeda looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hamaka is one step ahead there.
Hamaka passes Maeda's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hamaka wants to stand up but Maeda has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Hamaka stops Maeda from getting back to his feet.
Hamaka trying to mount his opponent but Maeda defends it.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hamaka is looking to take a break and control but Maeda is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hamaka throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Maeda is looking to escape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hamaka looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Maeda swinging wilding here.
Hamaka throws and low kick but Maeda moves out of range easily.
Hamaka scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Maeda doesn't seem bothered though.
Hamaka throws a sloppy head kick and Maeda moves out of range easily.
Hamaka throws a shot to the body.
Horrible takedown by Hamaka or perhaps it was just good defense by Maeda which made him look bad.
Hamaka tries a head kick but it misses.
A nice combination there by Hamaka.

Maeda moves out of range of the body kick from Hamaka.
Hamaka shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maeda as he avoids it easily.
Hamaka throws a sloppy head kick and Maeda moves out of range easily.
Hamaka lands with a right and another and another! Maeda is in big trouble! Hamaka lands again and this time it's lights out for Maeda! A quality knockout there for Hamaka.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 9:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Benson Hamaka!
