The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell tries for a takedown but Hansen circles away easily
and Hansen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hansen wants to pass the guard but Maxwell is keeping the position.
Maxwell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Maxwell is striking but Hansen is not phased and passes to half guard.

Maxwell closes the distance but Hansen moves to the side
and Hansen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Maxwell is trying to control Hansen's posture but Hansen avoids it.

Maxwell tries to lock up and control but Hansen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Maxwell is desperately trying to improve his position but Hansen has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Hansen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Maxwell is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Hansen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Maxwell's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hansen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
