Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Happy Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Grappler Striking!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day looks to clinch

and Striking counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Day tries to kick Striking off but Striking keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Day on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Striking has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Day wants to get back to his feet.
Striking working the head and body with strikes.
Day makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Day.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Striking's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Day is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Striking is working Day over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Day is pulling down on Striking's head. It's preventing any offense from Striking, at least for the moment.
Striking lands a couple of elbows.
Day avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Striking sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Day's guard.
Striking prevents Day from improving his position.
Striking is looking to take a break and control but Day is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Striking tries to pass the half guard into mount. Day knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Striking is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Day sees it coming and defends easily.
Day pushes Striking off looking to stand but Striking dives back in and keeps control.
Striking missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Day is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Striking scores with a couple of nice shots.
Striking passes into side control, despite Day's attempt to control the position.
Day wants to get back to his feet.
Day is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Striking is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Day has escaped the position, nice work there.

Day is looking to reverse the position.
Striking tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
An elbow from Striking crashes against the mat.
Day takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Day is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Day is pressing down on Striking's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Striking postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Striking throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Striking lands a couple of digs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jab by Day.
Striking keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Day gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Striking cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Day throws a right and a left that both miss.
Day throws a jab when Striking was well out of range.
Day throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Day looks to land a left hand but Striking moved out of range nicely.

and Striking counters with a single leg into guard. Day didn't expect that.

Striking stops Day from standing up.
Striking is looking to work some ground and pound but Day has wrist control.
Striking throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Day not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Striking lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Striking distracts Day with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Striking stops Day from standing up.
Day utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Day controls Striking momentarily but Striking frees himself.
Striking wants to control from the top but Day keeps moving.
Striking scoring with some ground and pound.

Striking keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Day's head.
Day is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Day wants to get back to his feet but Striking is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Striking not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Striking throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Striking lands a nice short elbow.
Day trying to control but Striking postures up.
Day manages to get to full guard.

Day is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Striking defends well.
Striking chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Grappler Striking showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Day's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

and Striking counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Day's guard now.
Day wants to stand up but Striking is controlling him.

Day is looking to control Striking's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Day avoid being mounted?
Day works his way to full guard. Good work.
Day is looking to stand back up but Striking counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Day.
Striking working over Day with some ground and pound. Day looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Day is looking to control Striking's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Day avoid being mounted?
Day keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Striking is thwarting Day's attempts to control the position.

Day looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Striking prevents Day from getting back to his feet.
Day trying to keep a closed guard but Striking is proving a slippery customer.
Striking looking to pass the guard.

Day is looking to stand up but Striking isn't so interested in that idea.
Striking is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Day wants to sweep here but Striking controlling him for the moment.
Grappler Striking has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Striking's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Day looking for subs off his back but Striking has passed one foot through into half guard.
Striking working Day over with strikes.
Grappler Striking is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Striking is taking a breather. Day says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Grappler Striking comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Striking has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
