And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honda misses with a double jab.
Jones with a lazy takedown attempt
and Honda counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Honda just misses with a punch to the body.

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jones with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Jones throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Honda sees it coming and defends easily.

Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Honda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Stewie Jones just wasn't active enough.
Honda looks to land a right hand but Jones moved out of range.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Honda, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Honda against the cage but Honda circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Honda pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jones goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Honda rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jones's guard! Nice work there by Honda!

Jones pushes Honda off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Honda sprawls well. Honda wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.

Honda throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jones closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Honda lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
That kick from Honda tenderised Jones's leg. Jones is trying to keep his angry face on.
Honda looks for the body kick but Jones saw that one coming.
Honda throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Takahatsu Honda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Honda seems to be stalking Jones here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Jones drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
