Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jason Diamond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hajime Susumu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Diamond! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hajime Susumu! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Susumu thows a body shot but no joy. Susumu throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Diamond thuds his right hand into Susumu's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Susumu throws a jab when Diamond was well out of range. Susumu misses with a leg kick. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Susumu throws a nice outside leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diamond lets loose with a powerful body kick. Susumu will feel that in the morning. Susumu throws a left and a right that both miss
and Diamond counters with a big head kick but Susumu shrugs it off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Susumu throws a hook but Diamond blocks it. Susumu lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Diamond circles away quickly and effectively. Diamond slaps away a takedown attempt from Susumu, before circling back to the center of the mat. Susumu throws a right hand that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Diamond lands a head kick. Susumu smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Susumu gets the takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diamond tries to improve position but can't. Susumu throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Susumu landing strikes. Diamond regains half guard. Susumu sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Diamond defending well though. Diamond is refusing to be controlled, as Susumu sits in half guard. Diamond trying to hold on to Susumu's head to control him but Susumu postures up.
Diamond is trying to get back to full guard. Susumu throws a strike but Diamond avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Diamond has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Susumu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Susumu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Susumu wants to control from the top but Diamond keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diamond will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Diamond looking to control.
Susumu throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Susumu throws a big right hand that misses. Susumu wants to control from the top but Diamond keeps moving. Susumu throws and elbow that misses. Diamond uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Susumu's guard. Nice move by Diamond! Diamond got a little sloppy there for a moment and Susumu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diamond has managed to get both his arms back between Susumu's legs - danger averted. Diamond pushing down on Susumu's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Diamond slows the pace down in half guard. Susumu is not content to let Diamond control the position. Diamond really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Susumu won't allow Diamond to pass to mount. Diamond trying to control the pace. Diamond is looking to advance position but Susumu won't allow it. Susumu looking for submissions off his back. Susumu actively working from the bottom here. Diamond is working for a kimura but Susumu is defending it quite comfortably.

Susumu takes a swing at Diamond's ribcage but misses. Hajime Susumu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diamond pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Diamond throws a nice inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diamond throws a sloppy head kick and Susumu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Susumu trying to control but Diamond is working from the bottom. Diamond looking to hit a scissor sweep but Susumu is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Susumu throws a big right hand that misses. Diamond had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Susumu defends it easily. Susumu stands up over Diamond, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Susumu works his way back into a safe position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Susumu won't allow Diamond to sweep him here. Diamond is looking for a triangle but Susumu pushes his legs off easily.
Susumu is looking to work some ground and pound but Diamond has wrist control. Susumu is in close to Diamond's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diamond is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Susumu defends well. Susumu chips away with some ground and pound. Susumu postures up and lands a big shot to Diamond's brow. Diamond has momentary wrist control but Susumu slips an elbow through the middle. Susumu content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Susumu throws a big right hand that misses. Diamond looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Susumu is looking to work some ground and pound but Diamond has wrist control. Susumu trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Susumu throwing strikes but missing. Susumu sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Diamond's guard. Susumu wants to control but Diamond is keeping him busy.

Diamond is looking to control Susumu's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Diamond avoid being mounted? Diamond looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Hajime Susumu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Diamond's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A head kick by Diamond misses and Susumu counters with a flying knee. Nice. Diamond looks for the body kick but Susumu saw that one coming. Diamond looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Susumu misses with a leg kick and Diamond counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diamond throws a good cross that connects.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Diamond is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Susumu is tapping! Great win for Diamond!
