PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Horus The Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Hawk comes to the cage accompanied by August Burns Red - Meddler. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Horus The Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Troy Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Jackson.
Jackson throws a nice head kick!
The Hawk throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jackson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
The Hawk connects with the punch.
Jackson misses with a double jab
and The Hawk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jackson defending well as The Hawk loads up on a big left hand.
The Hawk throws an off balance right hand
and Jackson counters with a slapping leg kick.
The Hawk swings widly with a right hand
and Jackson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. The Hawk is lucky that one didn't land flush.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The Hawk slips a jab and a cross from Jackson.
Jackson misses with a wild combination.
Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but The Hawk moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jackson throws a left and a right that both miss
and The Hawk counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The Hawk misses the body punch
and Jackson counters with a one-two to the body.
The Hawk misses with a double jab
and Jackson counters with a one-two to the body.
Jackson throws a right hand that The Hawk ducks under and follows up with a left that The Hawk also avoids with ease.
The Hawk throws a poor cross that misses
and Jackson counters with a three punch combo that has The Hawk backing up. The Hawk nods at Jackson to acknowledge the strikes.
Jackson connects with an inside leg kick.
The Hawk misses with a left hand
and Jackson counters with a nice uppercut.

The Hawk shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackson holds on and takes a little breather.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The Hawk pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jackson is keeping the position for now.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Troy Jackson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Jackson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of The Hawk's head.
No joy there for The Hawk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The Hawk takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Jackson lands a jab to the nose.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The Hawk shoots in looking for a takedown but Jackson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing The Hawk's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The Hawk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A nice combination there by Jackson.
The Hawk swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Jackson counters with a straight right hand.
Jackson cracks the inside of The Hawk's front leg.
Jackson scores with the left hand. The Hawk knows he should have avoided that one.
A left and a right from Jackson both land. Nice combination.
The Hawk misses with an uppercut
and Jackson counters with a series of strikes. The Hawk will be more careful next time no doubt.
The Hawk is breathing heavily.
The Hawk misses the shot to the body.
The Hawk swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jackson counters with a straight right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jackson lands a jab-cross combination.
The Hawk with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jackson to score with a decent uppercut.


The Hawk is rocked!
The Hawk avoids a punch combination nicely.

Jackson lands a leg kick that knocks The Hawk off balance momentarily.
Jackson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jackson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jackson throws a right and a left that The Hawk avoids nicely.
Jackson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jackson lands a jab to the nose.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Hawk chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jackson can pounce on him.
Jackson misses with a head kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from The Hawk.
Jackson closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Nice shot by Jackson.
The Hawk walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The Hawk is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Jackson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Decent striking displayed by Jackson there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jackson tries a head kick but it misses.
Troy Jackson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jackson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on The Hawk. That did some damage!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jackson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by The Hawk.

Jackson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The Hawk's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jackson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! The Hawk scrambles back to his feet.
Jackson works over The Hawk's head and body with a nice combination.
Jackson throws a nice inside leg kick.
Horus The Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Jackson does no damage.
Jackson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but The Hawk circles away quickly and effectively.
Jackson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps The Hawk's head backwards.
Jackson looks to land a combination but The Hawk avoids it well.
The Hawk has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jackson.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jackson. That's going to slow The Hawk down.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson lands a high kick!
Jackson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Jackson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jackson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed The Hawk momentarily.
Oh The Hawk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jackson Throws a clean left jab. Jackson Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with The Hawk's chin! The Hawk crumbles to the ground and Jackson follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Jackson!
