Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyosuke Shingure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan comes to the cage accompanied by Mama said knock you out. Kyosuke Shingure has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Charlie Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kyosuke Shingure!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan tries to clinch there but Shingure circles away.
Khan displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Khan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Khan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Shingure gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Khan missing with knees to the body.

Shingure manages to break the clinch.

Khan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shingure, pushing him back against the cage.
Shingure lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Khan or not.

Shingure breaks from the clinch.
Shingure darts in trying to clinch

and Khan counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Khan misses with a knee to the head.
Shingure changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Khan fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Shingure falls off balance throwing a combination

and Khan moves into the clinch.
Shingure pushes Khan back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Shingure goes for a takedown attempt but Khan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Khan counters with a shoot takedown. Shingure fights it but they end up in guard.
Charlie Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyosuke Shingure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shingure can't keep his opponent in guard - Khan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Khan wants to advance to full mount but Shingure doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Khan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shingure is keeping the position for now.
Shingure looking to hit a scissor sweep but Khan is one step ahead there.
Khan won't allow Shingure to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Khan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Khan wants to pass the guard but Shingure is keeping the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Khan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Khan just misses with a elbow thrown towards Shingure's brow.

Shingure breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Shingure tries for a takedown but Khan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Shingure looks gassed!

and Khan counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Khan rushes Shingure and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shingure is trying to break free.
Khan lands a damaging elbow.

Khan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Khan has managed to clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Khan.
Shingure creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Khan with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Shingure wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Shingure tries to land knees in the clinch but Khan avoids the damage to the body.

Khan lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Shingure manages to break the clinch.
Shingure throws a head kick that Khan semi-blocks.
Shingure throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Khan counters by moving into the clinch.
Khan unloads a knee to the mid-section. Shingure lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Khan throws a knee to the head but misses.

Shingure gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Shingure tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Shingure is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Shingure is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Khan wants to sweep but Shingure has passed to side control!

Shingure has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's five minutes gone in the round.

Khan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Khan tries to land a knee to the head but Shingure blocks with his arms.
Shingure wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Shingure wants to get back to striking at distance but Khan won't allow it.

Shingure breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kyosuke Shingure seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shingure gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Khan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shingure won't be happy with that.
Shingure wants to control but Khan postures up.

Khan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Shingure rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Khan's guard! Nice work there by Shingure!

Shingure gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
Shingure fails to land the takedown.
Shingure takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Khan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Khan is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Khan lands a nice knee to the body.

Khan connects with a nasty looking knee right to Shingure's face.
Shingure avoids the elbow strike from Khan, against the cage.
Shingure is pressed up against the cage. Khan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shingure down to the mat. Shingure avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Khan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shingure won't be happy with that.
Shingure is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Khan's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Khan wants to pass the guard but Shingure is defending well.

Shingure is looking to control Khan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shingure avoid being mounted?
Shingure is looking for a sweep. Khan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Khan seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Shingure has recovered full guard.
Khan passes Shingure's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Khan is working for a submission of some sort.
Shingure is looking to control Khan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shingure avoid being mounted?
Khan trying to advance position but Shingure counters by regaining guard.
Khan is looking to work some ground and pound but Shingure has wrist control.
Khan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shingure is keeping the position for now.

Shingure pushes Khan off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Shingure looks to throw a body kick

and Khan counters with a shoot takedown. Shingure fights it but they end up in guard.
Shingure not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Shingure is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Shingure keeping full guard, as Khan tries to pass.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Khan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shingure manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Khan has Shingure in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Khan dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Shingure misses with a few strikes there.
Shingure moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A good leg kick by Khan.
Khan tries a head kick but it misses.
Shingure shoots for a double leg takedown but Khan sprawls well. He's pushed Shingure's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Khan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shingure sprawls well initially but Khan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Khan wants to pass the guard but Shingure is defending well.

Khan is looking for a kimura here.
Charlie Khan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Khan is working for a kimura but Shingure is defending it quite comfortably.
Shingure is breathing heavily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Khan connects with a nice short shot to Shingure's temple.
Shingure moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Shingure is trying to control the position but Khan postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Khan stands up from Shingure's guard - Khan perhaps looking for a knockout.
Khan lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shingure's sensitive parts.

and Khan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Khan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Khan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

and Khan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Khan.
Shingure wants to get back to striking at distance but Khan won't allow it.

Charlie Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyosuke Shingure.

Shingure gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Khan regains guard.

Khan is working an open guard so Shingure takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Khan misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Shingure.

Shingure has clasped his hands together around Khan's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Khan is not content to let Shingure control the position.

Khan tries to bench press Shingure off him but Shingure keeps the position.

Shingure decides to stand back up. Shingure steps back and let's Khan get back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Shingure struggles to land a body shot inside as Khan controls his hands.
Shingure blocks an elbow strike.
Shingure fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Shingure wants to get back to striking at distance but Khan won't allow it.
Khan wants to break the clinch but can't.

and Khan counters with a shoot takedown. Shingure fights it but they end up in guard.

Khan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shingure is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shingure has escaped and now he's on top!

Shingure has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Khan finds it's way round the side to connect with Shingure's head.

Khan keeps control of Shingure as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Charlie Khan.
I think Khan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
