Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Headden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Maine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Headden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Maine!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maine goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Headden misses with a wild body shot.
Maine throws a leg kick
and Headden counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and Headden counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Good leg kick by Maine there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Maine thumps Headden with a low kick.
Headden moves out of range of the body kick.
Maine lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

and Headden counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Headden.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Maine is on top in guard.
Headden wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Maine drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Headden manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Maine has Headden in his guard.

Headden thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Headden wants to free his trapped foot but Maine is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Maine wants to improve his position but Headden is controlling well.
Headden seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Headden wants to work for an arm triangle but Maine is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Maine is not content to let Headden control the position.

Headden is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Maine is looking for a sweep. Headden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Headden is nestled in close to Maine, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Maine has hold of Headden's hands but Headden slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Headden uses his free foot to push down on Maine's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Maine.
Headden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Headden prevents Maine from getting the reversal.
Headden lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Maine is still in real trouble! Can Headden finish him?

Headden manages to capitalize on a mistake by Maine to take his back!
Headden lands strikes from the back and Maine isn't doing enough to escape the position. The referee steps in to end the fight.
