Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rolls Romo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hitoshi Masaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Romo comes to the cage accompanied by Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead Or Alive. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Hitoshi Masaru! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Masaru moves out of range as Romo strikes. Romo blocks a head kick by Masaru.
Masaru throws a quick inside leg kick. A lazy body kick from Romo and Masaru counters with a low kick, right behind Romo 's knee. Romo rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Masaru counters with a slapping leg kick. Romo checks a low kick from Masaru. Masaru lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Masaru throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Romo goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Donk. Romo catches Masaru right on the button with a cross. Masaru misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romo connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Masaru misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Masaru throws a leg kick and Romo counters with a thumping low kick. Masaru throws a solid leg kick but Romo takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Masaru. Romo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Masaru! Masaru is looking to get to half guard. Romo controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romo looking for a guillotine from mount but Masaru is having none of it. Masaru is squirming around, avoiding Romo's attempts to control the action. Masaru keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Masaru is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Romo wants to control the pace but Masaru is squirming around nicely. Masaru wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Masaru is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Masaru tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Masaru tries to lock up and control but Romo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Masaru gets back to half guard. Masaru is staying active underneath Romo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Masaru regains full guard. Nicely done. Masaru working a defensive guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Romo is pushing down on Masaru's leg trying to pass to half guard. Masaru is fighting to maintain full guard but Romo has managed to sneak the leg through. Romo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Romo works his foot free and advances to mount. Romo fails to move to back control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Masaru working to try and regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masaru is breathing heavily. Romo throws a leg kick and Masaru counters with a thumping low kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Romo connects with a good right hand that stumbles Masaru. Masaru circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

and Masaru counters with a head kick. That will keep Romo thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Romo is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Masaru sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Romo jabbing away but nothing is landing. Romo with a hook. Romo darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Romo misses with a straight right. Masaru gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Masaru throws a sloppy head kick and Romo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Hitoshi Masaru is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Romo scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. A chopping leg kick lands by Masaru. Masaru lands a head kick. Romo smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Romo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Good leg kick by Romo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Masaru takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Romo swings widly with a right hand
and Masaru counters with a slapping leg kick. Romo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masaru cracks the inside of Romo's front leg. Romo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Masaru. Romo blocks a head kick by Masaru.
Masaru does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Romo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Masaru manages to avoid it. Masaru blocks a head kick by Romo.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Romo connects with a solid leg kick. A head kick misses from Masaru. Rolls Romo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Romo throws an off balance right hand
and Masaru counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Romo is lucky that one didn't land flush. Romo jabs Masaru right on the nose. Masaru blinks but takes it well. Romo avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Romo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Masaru throws a lazy head kick and Romo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Romo blocks a low kick nicely.

Masaru ducks under a wild hook from Romo. Romo throws a leg kick and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Masaru throws a leg kick but Romo sees it coming and moves out of range. Romo tries to land a body kick and Masaru counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Romo is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Masaru dodges the punch combination from Romo.

And that's the end of the fight! Hitoshi Masaru comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Romo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
